Summary

Kira is a strategically minded, human-centred design leader that specialises in solving complex design problems with over 15 years of experience in the design industry. She currently manages a team of eight researchers, experience designers and content writers as one of the Design Manager's at Service Victoria. She has worked for a number of organisations during her time in digital consultancies working with high profile brands. She has led and been embedded in agile delivery teams. 

She lives on the Victorian Surf Coast with her husband, son and much loved dog. 

UX Design Manager - Service Victoria

  • Energise, lead and develop a tribe design team of eight working remotely with specialisations in user experience and content design
  • Initiate and lead large scale digital transformation projects for other government agencies leveraging design thinking. 
  • Partner with Product and Engineering Tribe Leads to ensure work plans are delivered in line with Government timelines. 
  • Develop Design Guild team culture with collaboration of other Design Managers, establishing streamlined ways of working methods and cadences. 

User Experience Team Lead - Transpire (now C&IT)

     

  • Inspire, lead and upskill team of three designers to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients. Managing their resource allocation, training goals and performance review.
  • Initiated and drove internal Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and Working Group. Have exceptional understanding of accessibility and inclusive design, ensuring that designs meet WCAG standards as well as educating and advocating the importance of accessible experiences within delivery teams and with clients. 
  • Accomplished facilitator of design and digital strategy workshops, bringing together various stakeholders and aligning on one goal.
  • Lead design sprints, discovery sprints and software development client engagements to client expectations, on time and within budget. 
  • Shape and present approaches for client engagements.
  • Devise research plans, facilitate workshops and conduct research sessions, synthesis findings. 

User Experience Consultant - Light Creative

  • Led the UX approach by conducting lean user research consisting of; interviewing target users, run surveys and conduct competitor and comparative heuristic analysis.
    Presented research findings to the agency and lead client meetings. 
  • Synthesis research results and create client deliverables such as personas, empathy maps and user journeys and comprehensive research reports.
  • Communicated user needs to a team of designers and Product Owner throughout the project and lead the usability testing until a successful minimal viable product was established. 
  • Managed client expectations and effectively communicated the user experience process; at times delivering difficult feedback.
